COFFS HARBOUR TO HOST EASTERN UNIVERSITY GAMES
COFFS Harbour will once again stage one of Australian University Sport's (AUS) premier events when it hosts the 2003 Eastern University Games from 6 – 10 July next year. The announcement that Coffs Harbour will be the host city for the five day university sporting carnival comes after a sponsorship agreement between AUS, the peak governing body of university sport in Australia, and the Coffs Harbour City Council was signed today.
The Coffs Harbour City Council has agreed to become a major sponsor of the event, which, based on previous year’s Games, will see at least $1.5 million directly injected into the city's economy over the week of the Games.
Accommodation providers alone are expected to reap in excess of $500,000 over the five days, while other areas that will benefit include transport services, food and beverage sales, retail sales and tourist attractions. The Games are also expected to generate far greater long-term economic benefits for region.

SOUTH PACIFIC AIR PASS FOR EUROPE MARKET
Air New Zealand has introduced the South Pacific air pass. It allows clients to fly at fixed prices inside New Zealand, between New Zealand and Australia and between New Zealand and Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island and Samoa.
The air pass is only available to clients from Europe and is valid through to April 30 2003. Prices start at 60 Euro for domestic New Zealand flights and end at 199 Euro for flights between New Zealand and South Pacific Islands.

Qantas increases UK services to Australia
Qantas is increasing its services to 19 Oz weekly flights.
Heathrow-Singapore-Sydney is five times per week, with
Heathrow-Bangkok-Sydney daily and Heathrow-Singapore-Melbourne also
daily. There are easy changes at Singapore, four times weekly for
Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and Cairns. The new flights will bring the
number of direct weekly services between the UK and Australia to 38.
All flights are code-shares with British Airways.
